  •  Two years ago the Occupy movement (5+ / 0-)

and economic ineuality was the central issue of our time.  In three to six months, there will be a new central issue of our time.

While I oppose the collection of the data by the NSA, in my view, climate change and economic inequality are far more important long term, but people certainly can disagree.   It's like arguing whether Willie Mays or Hank Aarron was the better player.   There ar emany important issue and different people find different issues most important.

if the TPTB have unfettered and secret access to the private communications of the reformers.

This is not just another fight.  If we lose this, night falls for a long long time.

      •  I disagree. (3+ / 0-)

"Night falls for a long time" is too melodramtic for me.  But I grew up under the threat of nuclear holocaust.  Of ocurse, that pales in light of email or phone privacy issues.

If no changes are made, which I suspect is more likely than not, many of us will be fighting for a more equal and decent society as we have done (for me, on and off) for much of our lives.
