    Bush era abuses.  It seems to undercut your claims that everything is fine now.

    I suspect you're saying that for yourself rather than the rest of us, because you must surely know that pointing out that bad things happened under Bush isn't lost on the rest of us that are upset about what the NSA is doing today.  

    As somebody that is still livid about what happened under Bush, it doesn't make Obama or some of his more loyal supporters more endeared to me when a war criminal like Michael Hayden is mustered in defense of his programs.  Rather, it makes me wonder just how much deeper the rot runs.
