  •  I don't think I've ever seen his name before (7+ / 0-)

I love coming here and reading about series I haven't yet discovered!

I see audible.com has 8 of his books. (Susan, you should be getting a finder's fee from them!) Have you by chance read the 3rd in the series, Redemption? I ask because it's $11.64, compared to $19.58 each for first two, though they're shorter. So I'd be tempted see how I like that one unless you think they're best read in order?

    Anyway, another interesting diary--thank you!

    •  Redemption is A Conspiracy of Faith. I still (6+ / 0-)

haven't figured out why his publishers think his novels need a different name in the UK than the one used in America. It is the same language. Sort of.

I like to read a series from the beginning, but they are all stand alone novels. Have you checked your library? Ours has the first two on discs.

The narrator on Conspiracy does a wonderful job. Can't comment on the others since I found them back in the bad old days when I still read books. (And while Audible has 8 books, half of them are not in English.)

      •  well that's confusing! (7+ / 0-)

Not only does the same book have two different titles and narrators, but one's almost two hours longer than the other.

        •  I found this common while in Norway (7+ / 0-)

I spent a couple summers in Norway as a kid and bought every Agatha Christie book I could find in the rail and bus stations.  My grandmother took me all over to visit relatives and these books were dependable English language books.  However, when I got home to th US, I found the difference in some of the titles.  I always thought it had to do with "Ten Little Indians" as the US title and a derogatory word in the English version.  Hmm.
