My question is what kind of insurance payout would cover the costs associated with the scale of water contamination were it to get into that metropolis?

What would happen to NYC if the water was contaminated with methane?

the water; most of the methane will go into the atmosphere. It's the witches' brew of chemicals, compounds and likely carcinogens that may end up in the water and may essentially never clean itself that are the real worry. Frackers don't reveal the chemical composition of the liquid they use to break up the rocks and force out the gas. "Trade secrets." How is the EPA or anyone supposed to regulate a secret? ... It's okay, the frackers say, we're extremely trustworthy and we know what we're doing. I know what they're doing and that's why I don't trust them!

that would not get through state legislature (half from NYC)
