rich liberals). The first couple times I saw them they were real head-turners but once I got used to them they lost their appeal - maybe they just don't look edgy enough for my taste.

        •  chinese may buy them (0+ / 0-)

the IP is still good, execution was poor in a rough biz

          •  There is no IP (1+ / 0-)

The thing's a gold painted turd. If the Chinese want the "tech" that went into the Karma, they're welcome to it, it's a complete joke. Tesla beats them silly taking the pure EV route, GM, Toyota, Porsche, and BMW all beat them silly on the PHEV technology. Whoever wants to buy Fisker thinks there's value to the name, which is pretty stupid of them.

First they came for the farm workers, and I said nothing.

            •  what's so bad about the Fiskar PHEV tech? (0+ / 0-)

              •  General inferiority (0+ / 0-)

With a full charge and a full tank of gas the thing has a 230 mile EPA rated range, less than what the EPA rated the Model S. It also has a 52 MPGe, drastically lower than the Volt, Prius Plug In, and the CMAX Energi. Performance wise, a base model V6 Mustang or 3 series would eat its lunch without breaking a sweat, so it doesn't even have sportiness going for it.

Basically, the Karma sucks ass, both on the green front, and the performance front. It's also cramped in the back seats, and has crap for trunk space, so it doesn't even make a good sedan. It's a failure on every front, except for styling. Like I said, a gilded turd.

                •  are you sure of the performance (0+ / 0-)
The net result is a very respectable 403 horsepower coupled with a jaw dropping 951 lb-ft of torque - available at zero rpms! This translates to a zero-to-60 time of 7.9 seconds and a 95 mile per hour top speed - in electric-only "Stealth Mode."

Not impressed? Don't worry, Sport Mode can be activated and the Ecotec kicks in to boost performance, recording a zero-to-60 sprint in 5.9 seconds and bumping the top speed to 125 mph. This unprecedented level of driver control enables conversation of either electricity or gasoline, depending on driver needs and preferences.

The Ford mustang does 0-60 in 5.88 seconds, so i'd call 2 hundredtshs of a second not much of a lead maybe 6 inches.

                  •  What you quoted reads like a press release (0+ / 0-)

Real world reviews are nowhere near as kind. As for the Mustang, when a $30k car beats one that costs over $100k, it's a brutal spanking, it doesn't matter if it's by 10 seconds or 1 hundredth of a second. Hell, a Hyundai Genesis will outperform a Karma, a fucking Hyundai. There really is no defending the Karma, it sucks. Aside from being pretty, there's absolutely nothing good about it.

That's a big part of the reason the Model S succeeded and the Karma failed. Tesla built a great looking car that has performance and usability to match. Fisker didn't.

First they came for the farm workers, and I said nothing.

      •  Don't buy Fisker (0+ / 0-)

Buy the Cadillac ELR when it comes out in a few months. It's the luxury version of the Chevy Volt. It's a super sexy, edgy car.

Plus the ELR is much more likely to not have any maintenance issues like the Fisker Karma.

        Filibuster? I hardly know her!
