    is to keep the 99% out of the deal-making.  I'm sure that if push really came to shove the Democrats would agree to lose, like the Republicans did last year.

    The reason why the Democrats won so handily in 2008 was that people were disgusted at Republican rule.  GOTV for Democrats is hardly motivated by a jobs policy that proclaims its satisfaction with a stagnant employment-population ratio while the White House pursues the Grand Bargain and the Trans-Pacific Partnership.  If you want a big Democratic victory, you'll probably have to put up with four more years of Republican rule starting in 2016 when the Presidency is up for grabs again.
