    at the Guardian and have those stored both on premises and in an undisclosed location/archive.

    There was a lot of information on those drives, not just of the Snowden story.  What a waste.

      The whole charade with UK security is ludicrous.

      Also the claim that the files had to be sent by courier "because the entire Internet is bugged" is insane. I have two words for you:

      Encryption
      and
      Anonymization
      The files being carried were encrypted. You can sent encrypted e-mails. There are dozens of ways to transmit data without fear of interception or "man-in-the-middle" attacks. You can send data anonymously so that no government knows you are doing it, or where it went.
