    A good article from McClatchy
Chemical weapons experts weigh in on Syria intelligence report

WASHINGTON — International chemical weapons experts generally agree that the evidence presented Friday in an unclassified U.S. report about the alleged use of chemical weapons in Syria seems stronger than the faulty intelligence employed to justify the U.S. invasion of Iraq.

    But doubts remain.

“There are lots of things that aren’t spelled out,” said Richard Guthrie, formerly project leader of the Chemical and Biological Warfare Project of the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute.

For example, the report refers to intercepted communications among Syrian regime officials, Guthrie said, but it provides no transcripts.

“That’s the difficulty,” he said. “There’s still this problem of, ‘Trust us, we have more intelligence.’”

Kerry said the evidence had high confidence. Experts say there is still doubt. The US Govt expects trust when there are no grounds for such trust, given the lies of Bushistas on Iraq and Obama and his Administration with regard to the NSA.

Just trust us cannot be the standard for war when the is no Congressional and no NATO and no UN Security Council approval. This Empire  wears no clothes.

    •  not a lot of trust left after the last 12 years (5+ / 0-)

and considering that our current war is so mired down, how do they sell us another one that is expected to be another bowl of duck soup?

Bush's words after the first strikes of missiles and bombs hit  in Kabul and Kandahar, 26 days after 9-11, way back in the year of 2001......

"We will not waver, we will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail."

      "Peace and freedom will prevail."

We faltered a lot along the way, changing goals constantly even now, and success has not yet come, and we certainly have gotten tired, and peace did not come, nor did freedom prevail. But the war has not ended, so at least in that respect, we have not wavered as the second president to run the war increased US troops to over 100,000.

Just trust us cannot be the standard for war
