Though I will see if one of the labs here has hexane... probably ask tomorrow. People will wonder if I just want to get high off of it or something. I will be like "no no I stepped on a tarball and it messed up my flip flops too because I hadn't noticed until I went in the shower."

I don't have much with me because I never thought I'd step on a tarball.

I'm a little peeved at how dependent we are on oil. At the same time, it is their donations to the ACS Petroleum Research Fund which pays my stipend (I'm a grad student).

Why hello there reality, how are you doing?

is vegtable oil. It will not cut right into the tar like acetone but it will not suck all of the water out of your skin the way acetone does either.

Work the vegtable oil into the tar with gentle rubbing then add dish soap (no water) work that in until well mixed, then wash away with water.
