    but I can't write it now. I'm surprised that writing this dredged up so much old pain. Short son was stillborn at full term within 24 hours after being listed for a heart transplant. I suffered and grieved, adopted a sweet boy with autism, quit my job, and became a farmer. I also met women all over the country who'd been in my shoes and learned how location, access to prenatal testing, and income/insurance determined to some extent not only the final outcome, but the range of treatment choices available.

    You can put your shoes in the oven, but it won't make them biscuits.
