  •  Thank you. As we speak, my city Albuquerque (10+ / 0-)

is facing a ballot measure that would ban abortions after 20 weeks. It is odious, unconstitutional and foisted on us by an out-of-state group. I am sharing your diary with all my ABQ facebook friends.

And for anyone reading this who knows anyone who lives in ABQ, or knows someone who lives in ABQ, please help get the word out and tell them to vote AGAINST the ballot measure. For more info, provided by the coalition Respect Albuquerque Women, go here:

And if you don't know anyone in  ABQ, well please send us good wishes. And watch your back - this business of city referendums is a new tactic from the forced birthers. It could be coming to a city near you!

    •  You may feel free (7+ / 0-)

to share my story with anyone you wish. I hope you and your fellow citizens are able to defeat the ballot measure and that more people will realize that the women who need access to late term abortion are not folks who just couldn't be bothered to seek abortion at an earlier time. I suspect all of us are dealing with horrific circumstances.

      •  TY again. It tears my heart that women facing (5+ / 0-)

these circumstances should be have to climb through hoops thrown in place by forced birthers. Of course it's just the start of the slippery slope - the fbirthers won't  be satisfied until all advances in women's health care for the last 200 years have been banished. Including birth control.

The thought that they've been able to bring ABQ to vote on medical procedures for those who desperately need them -- it makes me sick to my stomach.
