  •  Thank you. One of the anti-choice myths is "women (7+ / 0-)

have abortions on impulse and then they regret it."

A delivery man in a clinic parking lot said to me once, "Well, I suppose women have to have that right. But I don't think they should do it on a whim."

I said, "Look at the license tags. These women had to make an appointment a week or ten days ago, wake before dawn, drive across three states to get here, and then push through a howling mob to enter the clinic.  Is that what you call a whim?"

The right of the women of this State to be secure in their persons against unreasonable searches shall not be violated by the State legislature.

    •  I'm sure that women have abortions "on a whim" (4+ / 0-)

the same way that men have digital rectal exams or vasectomies on a whim - "just seemed like a good idea at the time." But the part about hundreds of travel miles and a mob in front of the clinic - most of us will never have that kind of resistance to deal with to get what should be reasonable medical care. Conservatives and Catholics, on this topic, are damn near all nuts.
