    and then leave the thread before I get sucked into a flame war.

    I've been pretty disappointed in several decisions  he has made, especially since re-election, BUT...
    I don't blame it ALL on him personally. The man is locked in a bubble surrounded by advisors he has to rely on, since he cannot know everything and still be effective. The death threats to him and his family have made it very difficult for him to ever really get out among everyday people, even when he is outside of the WH giving speeches. Unfortunately, I believe he has really lost touch with the pulse of the (sane) populace and surrounded himself with some pretty awful advisors, who in turn were very likely recommended by other advisors. I am not optimistic that this will get better before he leaves office. It's really a terrible, heartbreaking waste.
