    Manning trial and verdict, from a pure human and emotional aspect and from a legal one. I think there are parts in this interview that address legal aspects of the trial and they are of a kind that Obama, the lawyer, can't ignore without putting his intelligence on the line.

      to the legal part, he will fear he'll open the door for future file sharing, and he'll want that to be a un-result.

      But the real reason should be that Brad Manning is a sweet man who doesn't think with his head but with his heart.  He feels too much empathy for his own good. Obama says there is an empathy deficit in the nation and he's right, but Brad Manning actually feels the pain of others, and he was ready to take the risk. He is naive for sure, he trusted people who should not have been trusted. His mistake was confiding in 'Linda Tripp.'
