  •  Nixon was pardoned... (12+ / 0-)

    1. Post-conviction conduct, character, and reputation.

Never convicted nor jailed. Post resignation conduct? I have that image of him jumping on the chopper with a shit-eating grin. Reputation? Polished like a mutherfuckin genie's bottle.

    2. Seriousness and relative recentness of the offense.

High crimes and misdemeanors against the USA? Pretty damn serious, and the pardon came PDQ after Ford took over. (May his sorry arse be flayed by the devil himself).

    3. Acceptance of responsibility, remorse, and atonement.

Who truly knows what was in Nixon's evil, shriveled heart? I'll just refer you to Marine 1 pix.

    4. Need for relief.

The repug party needed the relief, and I honestly believe that Nixon's pardon has put you in the position you are in today - chasing, torturing and imprisoning whistleblowers. You have way too many Nixonites still running around for anyone to feel comfortable.

I'd say Manning has served more than enough time.
