    conducted by some Hindu cult whose guru was in jail in India for murder. It was bizarre. I thought my father would have a stroke sitting there watching the Sanskrit (I think) chanting and swaying and all. But it was my only sister, and it meant a lot to her to have us fly across country to be there. It did not in any way mean that I believed whatever they were chanting or was adopting their adoration of their guru as a god, or whatever it was.

    It meant putting family ties ahead of principle, just as the Tennessee mom did.

    Go. If it's the kind of funeral he wanted, that's what matters most.
