but i think theres another way to interpret that. The reason they do it, is because if they don't, they'd risk not being able to feed their families, take care of kids, get healthcare, etc.

Such a fear can drive someone to do many things, things far less pleasant than someone who was out simply to make money would do.

Im not saying this is definitely the case, of course. Thats impossible to know. I just wanted to come up with an alternate explanation for the scenario,

"Trust not the words of a poet, as he is born to seduce. Yet for poetry to seize the heart, it must ring with the chimes of truth."

    •  They are only following orders. (4+ / 0-)

Have some sympathy for the brown black shirt enforcers bullies Walker supporters.

      •  It's easy to demonize them but I think that (13+ / 0-)

the opinions of the people who interact with them every day (the Solidarity Singers) need to be acknowledged.

I have heard many of them say that while some of them are bad eggs, others are not and are clearly uncomfortable with the job they have to do and treat people gently within the illegal arresting they are performing. I have heard this again and again.

Chief Erwin is an asshole of the first water; he was, I believe, Walker's personal protection, and when the previous chief resigned because of these rules and other Walker misdeeds, Erwin was appointed. Walker's cronies are truly bad people. The rest of the Capitol Police generally didn't do much "policing" until Walker's rules.

I agree that the idealist's response is to leave (like the previous chief) but many of these officers are worried about their families, bills, health. You do know that WI ranks pretty much at the bottom for jobs and economic growth, don't you? Thanks to Walker's policies.

So, I'm not an apologist for any individual, but I am acknowledging what I hear from people who have experienced the arrests daily.

It's the part they use to justify it.  The root can be explained by the Stanford Experiment.  And Lord Acton.

I'll believe corporations are people when one comes home from Afghanistan in a body bag.
