    Today's kids just CTRL C; CTRL V when they have to write sentences hundreds of times. They don't even bother to read the words.

      It's hard to forget a sentence one becomes so intimately familiar with.

      We actually DID have computers then. It was right when the Apple ][ series of computers were starting to become popular.

      My teacher, however, was no dummy, and  wouldn't have accepted anything else in place of my tortured handwriting for that "assignment."

      That's pretty funny though. If I'd have had the presence of mind to do it, that would've been exactly the kind of thing I'd have done to bullshit my way out of it. ;)
