      that there is a level of atrocity far beyond what we've seen that would shock the right into pausing and reflecting on what it is they want America to be...

      ...and that this level of atrocity is far beyond the level the right would prefer to see directed against its enemies, and a lot more often...

      ...and that this level of preferred atrocity isn't yet being provided the right by its self styled leaders.

      Thus they vote out their own again and again, swapping out one huckster for another until they stumble across the gifted orator with the gleaming eye who means what he says and backs talk up with deeds.

      I will say this: the nearest thing to that person we've seen so far is probably Ted Cruz. The next nearest is Rand Paul.

      However, I think neither of them will be the reactionary messiah the right is praying for.

      Because even they are too tentative, too nice, too measured. Too careful. And the right increasingly wants someone who not only talks fire and brimstone but delivers it wholesale.
