    My understanding is it's a lot of separate franchises, not owned by the corporate.

    But that could be wrong..

      have almost no latitude in policy making in most chains.  They're essentially contractors who paid a fee for the name and the initial setup and get paid based on that location's success -- or failure.

      I'll believe corporations are people when one comes home from Afghanistan in a body bag.

        If it's actually written into policy that white customer requests supersede those of black customers, it's a policy issue. But if a manager uses a widely-held policy (we have the right to refuse service to anyone) to justify racism, that's the fault of the individual restaurant and not the entire franchise.

          if it's error by omission just as much as it would be if it were written that way.  You could argue that "it should go without saying", but it clearly doesn't.
