    in that regard since my oldest brother is mentally retarded. I've certainly used the term in the past, but I'm trying not to any longer.

      I grew up with a little gruffer surroundings. It is quite commonplace in my family to really lay into eachother with insults, all in good humor. Although they would be seen as wildly offensive to any outsider. But there is s subtle but VERY important difference between doing it in a derogatory way, and an affectionate way.

      Of course I am a fan of really crass humor. See: Arthur Greenleaf Holmes' poetry (particularly his Hearthside conversation)

        being made, mostly from people of the group the comments are about. Then again, I know some odd people, and I consider the circumstances, knowing everyone and every situation is different.
