  •  Registrar Switching Process (none)
Well, the procedure varies slightly from registrar to registrar, but usually it goes something like this:

    1. On the new registrar's site, go to their TRANSFER page and fill out the request for your domain.

    2. On the current registrar's control panel, make sure to UNLOCK the domain name.

    3. The new registrar will send an authorization request via email to the ADMINISTRATIVE CONTACT for that domain name (this is why it's important that this email address belong to you or someone you trust, and is a current address which you have access to!).

    4. The authorization request will usually include a customized link for you (the Admin contact) to click, to authorize the transfer.

    5. The NEW registrar will then forward the transfer request to the CURRENT registrar (in this case, godaddy), which--assuming that you unlocked the domain in step 2--will do one of two things, depending on their policy: either a) they'll go ahead and put through the transfer, or b) they'll send their own authorization email to the admin contact.

If a) happens, you're all set--it should go through automatically in a day or so at most, and you shouldn't see any changes to your actual hosting, etc.

If b) happens, just click the link in the 2nd transfer request email to authorize it, and you're all set.

    •  LinkSky (none)
Since others have made suggestions, I'd like to post a recommendation for my registrar/host, Linksky. I've used them for several years, their rates are good and their service is outstanding.
