    if the UN can't move because of Russian/maybe Chinese vetoes,  how would it not be mostly unilateral, and how is this not already a quagmire, just one we haven't jumped into with both feet?

        there is a little less downside, as we won't be the lone cowboy again,  but I still don't see where we can make any commitment that doesn't do as much damage as good, arm one side and they will begin to terrorize the groups they don't like, we will end up with arms in the hands of terrorists that don't like us,  just bombing kills people we don't mean to kill, etc.
