  •  The vacuum (9+ / 0-)

Nature abhors a vacuum, and politics abhors an absence of power. If the government goes away, someone else will step in. That someone will be corporations with cash. For those who want fascism or plutocracy tomorrow, voting Libertarian today is one sure way to expedite the process. Drown the government in the bathtub, and watch the Wall Street fatcats steal your pension, cut your wages, and dump poison in your air and water. Apparently that'd be just fine with Julian Assange, who clearly has spent more time studying Ecuadorean culture than he's spent reading Thomas Hobbes and John Locke recently.
