Orrin Pilkey, Stephen Leatherman, and others, going back 40 years and more.  When sea level rises, natural shorelines retreat.  Lack of a hyperlink is not lack of evidence.

Florida's issue is not unique; most of the world's sandy beaches are 'disappearing,'  especially in any place that has built a hardened shoreline.  Where adaptable people move back instead, the width of the beach can stay the same.  As if there were a liberal conspiracy or something.

    •  And where is your evidence that sea levels are (0+ / 0-)

      rising due to global warming?

Here is Wikipedia on the issue:

o Climate changes during the 20th century were estimated from modelling studies to have led to contributions of between −0.2 and 0.0 mm/yr from Antarctica (the results of increasing precipitation) and 0.0 to 0.1 mm/yr from Greenland (from changes in both precipitation and runoff).[citation needed]
o Estimates suggest that Greenland and Antarctica have contributed 0.0 to 0.5 mm/yr over the 20th century as a result of long-term adjustment to the end of the last ice age[citation needed].
So in 100 years, 5 cm.  How much beach do you think that is going to wash away?

The beach problems are much more likely to be tied to local issues:
      1. Impact of buildings near the shoreline on water fall
      2. Changes in water flow from rivers caused by human activity
      3. Impact of docks, breakwaters, jetties, etc.
      4. Normal changes to the environment - the world is a dynamic system and sand is being continuously washed away and replenished, not always at the same rates.
