The case began in 2008 when Stacey Rambold, now 54, a high school teacher who four years earlier had been warned not to touch or be alone with female students,

I'm kind of surprised that the school didn't fire the guy, but I also wonder what form that warning took - I hate newspaper articles that hint at a key issue but don't address it.  And that's a key issue, to me, whether or not he had some sort of troubling history or if they mean "warned" as in "received a memo along with the rest of the faculty."  Odds are it's more serious than the letter, but Google isn't revealing how serious.

While it's not great reporting I've never heard of any general sexual harassment policy memo containing a warning "not to touch or be alone with FEMALE students."   That's way too specific.

I'm willing to bet there were people of a like mind of the judge in the school's admin that felt a warning would suffice cause you know, men and stuff.

The priest said, "Today's sermon is called 'Liars', but first I have a question. How many of you have read Chapter 66 in Matthew?" Nearly every hand went up. "You're just the group I need to speak to," the priest said. "There's no such chapter."
