because that would show who voted to retaliate for Syria gassing their own people and who didn't.  That says it all.

    •  Yes, get them all on record. (5+ / 0-)

Personally, I think Obama wants to avoid going through Congress to cover for his Democratic colleagues. There's a lot of anti-war people on the Left, including me. By not voting on a war resolution, Democrats can have their cake and eat it too. They can quietly approve of the war without taking a firm stand. Then they can feel free to criticize the war in 2014 despite doing nothing to stop it.

If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate.

      •  I doubt it. I think he just doesn't want (4+ / 0-)

the bother of dealing with Congress.

If Obama cared about the career longevity of  his Democratic colleagues he'd stop pressing for Social Security cuts.

The party of Kennedy is also the party of Eastland. The party of Javits is also the party of Goldwater. Where is our party? Where is the political party that will make it unnecessary to march on Washington?

        •  Are you saying that Obama is lazy? (0+ / 0-)

Nah... He has a purpose for everything he does or doesn't do.

          •  No. I think he doesn't want the PR mess. (0+ / 0-)

Laziness is not a problem of his.
