    I don't believe any state has a fund to reimburse fees paid to lawyers when defendants are found not guilty.

    However, there are some federal cases where "reasonable" attorneys fees can be reimbursed. I think it has to do with being indicted when you are holding a federal office. If you are tried and found not guilty you can have the federal government pay your lawyers. In no case can you obtain payment for legal fees above industry norms.

      and if the law's in place, then Zimmerman has as much right as anyone else to benefit from it - although I'd love for him to have forfeited it when he and his wife conspired to hide the extent and use of the donations they were receiving for his defence.
