    that, before we rail against this law, we consider it OUTSIDE of the George Zimmerman context.  This law allows an acquitted person of limited means to seek reimbursement for costs associated with securing that acquittal.  IOW, it helps to redress the imbalance in resorces most defendants face, vis a vis the prosecution.   It also helps to ensure that people of limited means can get the same defense as those who are well-healed.  
    I think the law may need some tweaks.  I don't share your fear about having a judge choose who would qualify.  But, there is no doubt that the poor and the middle class have an improved access to justice with a system such as Florida has set up.

    With the Decision Points Theater, the George W. Bush Presidential Library becomes the very first Presidential Library to feature a Fiction Section.
