  •  worth remembering; (8+ / 0-)

our last little sortie in Libya, where we helped an uprising oust its murderous, crazy dictator.
the people were so grateful we were showered with RPGs and mortars at the Benghazi embassy mere weeks later.
funny how all the people we do these nice things for never seem to be properly grateful.
Hmmm, given that the worst possible thing ever to emerge from a military adventure is that Republicans will have a new 'scandal' horse to flog over some event, maybe that is the leverage needed to stop this latest inevitability.

popular opinion?  What world do you live in?

Here's the reality: The US is now more popular in Libya than in any other part of the Middle East or North Africa except Israel.

So I'm sorry, what were you saying about how much intervention in Syria will cause us to be hated?

Já þýðir já. Nei þýðir nei. Hvað er svona erfitt við það?

are drawn to conflicts all over the middle east, so no matter how much  local 'popular opinion' is with the liberators, there is an excellent chance one or more of those zealots will get opportunistic.

I simply said it was worth remembering. And it is. Your attitude is unnecessary, and your straw man ('terrorist attack now means popular opinion' - never said it) is invalid.

        •  Fine. I don't care about the random zealot. (0+ / 0-)

I have no particular obsession with terrorism.  I care about the general public.  They are what matter, esp. in the long run.
