is another word for "I'm afraid to take a side" or "somebody might get mad if I get too liberal".

My soon to be ex- has the same problem, votes Obama, all for Women's Rights, and then worries herself to death that someone won't agree with her, someone will call her a leftist and she'll have a sad.  Jesus.

Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

value in policy prescriptions from all sides (depending on the situation).  In other words circumstances should dictate the policy prescription, not ideology.  For example, cutting taxes made sense as a policy prescription in 1960 (Kennedy), but not so much in 2001 (Bush II).

What value do you see in cutting off people's voting rights, sabotaging the economy, rolling back women's rights and healthcare, balancing the budget on the backs of the working class, sabotaging healthcare reform, starting religious wars in Middle Eastern countries, hating on homoxexuals and anyone who isn't a right-wing Christian?

I'd love to see how you excuse those things, because they're not rational policy proscriptions in any way shape or form.

There is no fucking middle between those demands and reality.  None.

For me, there's also the aspect of not being willing to give up on Democrats because I'm not getting 100 percent of what I'd prefer right now this instant!

Being moderate means being pragmatic and realistic.
