    and clearly climate change is a problem. More frequent and powerful storms. What what I often don't hear said is the lose of wet lands in LA. It is estimated a football field a day is lost. If you look at maps from 1900 and today, there are large parts, hundreds of miles of land that just isn't there anymore.

    Those wet lands served as a natural barrier to these storms. Not so much anymore.

    Plus it is heartbreaking, cause these areas of the state are staggering in their beauty. If you ever go to New Orleans, just a few miles up the road outside of Sildell on the Peral River you can take a wetlands and/or swamp tour (Honey Island Swamp Tours).

    It will blow your mind away.
