Rumsfeld would be the easiest person to convince; after all, he bought the WMDs in Iraq thing.

That, of course, is the irony and chutzpah of this idiot weighing in. But now is the time to re-iterate that the existence or non-existence of WMD is no excuse whatsoever for invading Iraq, Syria, or anywhere else.

The fact that even those resolutely opposed to the Iraq debacle accepted the argument of the existence of WMD as a justification for war makes it just that much harder to keep from repeating the mistake.

in the correct government legislative and deliberative body. I caught the beginning of the debate in Commons this morning live on the BBC world service. No commentary, no editing, just Cameron making the motion and the debate commencing. It was an awsome thing to hear; an actual debate with real questions, concerns, arguments, discussion of evidence, etc. to determine the policy the nation should follow.

Now, if only we had that kind of institution...

But alas, we have the U.S. Congress.
