    Look at the Swiss K31.  Making something like that today would cost $2500+ dollars.  You could reverse engineer many of the older designs but being that they were almost completely made of machined forging, they would be very expensive to manufacture today.  Stampings and MIM injection can produce similar parts but they would not have the right metallurgical properties.

      The K31 is an excellent example.  One year during WW2,  the Swiss used poorer quality steel, so as a result, the 1944 K31s have a well known operating rod failure.  

      The sequester is the new Republican immigration reform plan. Make things so bad here in the US that no one will want to live here.
