Some of these firearms end up in criminal hands, officials say
For this statement to have any meaning whatsoever, some official, somewhere, needs to have some numbers and a source for them that people like you and me can verify the accuracy of.

Otherwise it is exactly as credible as Republicans complaining about voter fraud or jars of feces.

Here are some numbers; "Valley Gun, Baltimore, Maryland
ATF conducted a compliance inspection of Valley Gun in 2003 and discovered that 422 guns were missing—more than a quarter of the store’s entire inventory. Additionally, this store was connected with more than 483 guns found at crime scenes, including 41 assaults and 11 homicides. For these and other violations, ATF eventually revoked the owner’s federal firearms license, although he was permitted to continue selling the guns in the store’s inventory as a private seller."

Thats just one dealer out of 10s of thousands.  Still think it is a non-issue?

The "officials say" comment referred specifically to the Class 3 automatic weapons that were part of the executive order. I'm asking whether we have numbers from the ATF or elsewhere that are relevant to the executive order, which is after all, the topic of the diary.
