And I just knew it'd be about my hometown, too.

If you live close to Lake Erie, you have a chance. But I90 is pretty much the cutoff into full blown Pennsyl-tucky. The area attracts workers and visitors from hours in each direction, so in a given day, I'll encounter people with vastly varying degrees of life experience and social attitudes.

I'm living in America, and in America you're on your own. America's not a country. It's just a business.

I recognized the place right away. When I was there, they had very clean bathrooms and a fine selection of single-serving snacks. Also too, they had chargers, ear buds, headphones and coffee that was damn strong.
My scratch-offs didn't win anything, though. The only nuts I saw there were in packages.

Funniest thing I ever saw on a package of salted peanuts was this: "Allergy warning: May contain peanuts."

Well, yeah, I certainly hope there are peanuts in the bag of salted peanuts. Somewhere, some lawyer said, "we have to put an allergy warning on anything that contains or may contain peanuts." And some graphic designer said to his boss, "On this package of salted peanuts, do we have to say that it may contain peanuts? Don't people who are allergic to peanuts know that there's a 100% certainty that his bag of peanuts contains peanuts?" There were probably lots of emails and meetings about this.
