  •  Hi, Thinker! (9+ / 0-)

Already have the ACLS and PALS, and have a raincheck for an NRP class.  BLS-HCP is good for 2 years.

Well, my impression of firefighters, which I got from TV, is that they're all good cooks (but I know you're a good one, too).

Many years ago, I played in a coed softball league in S.F., and one of the teams we had to play was a bunch of firefighters.  Needless to say, we had no chance.

bring the team of ffer's a case of beer in the first inning.

And trust me--not ALL FF stations have good food. Station 10 in SF(near the JCC) was my last station, and it wasn't good. (example A: no 1/2 & 1/2 for coffee, only sweetened condensed milk. I mean, really...)When I was down on Grove St in the Panhandle, it was excellent. There's a station off 3rd St in the Bayview that BBQ's every night-and they are prize-winning experts. Most stations are pretty good, some are excellent. Many have specialties. All have jumbo portions...

Paramedics didn't have to cook. Because the ambulances were so busy, there was no telling when dinner might actually hit the table, and if there is one thing a fire station won't stand for--it's a late dinner(unless there's an actual fire to fight).

When you have a spare moment, google 'the abalone incident' in SFFD. In a nutshell, one entire station went to an abalone dinner at the neighboring station...and the first station burned down while they were out of district scarfing down abalone. There may have been wine involved. Good times...

The better I know people, the more I like my dog.
