  •  Of course all revolutions do start (0+ / 0-)

from within. However, all revolutions are not simply about the good guys agains the bad guys.

There was a major (civil war) revolution in the US with about 600,000 death. Who stated that?

My point is that when the vast majority of the people join in the overthrow of a dictator as was the case in Iran and Egypt where the revolutions succeeded. When the overthrow does not have a large majority needed the rebellion it will fail.

The vast majority of Syrians would like to see their country back to what it was, a couple years ago, before the revolution started. The revolution has been a failure that now can only succeed with outside help.

War is costly. Peace is priceless!

    •  Well there were sure an awful lot of (0+ / 0-)

Syrians in the streets 2 years ago clamoring for Assad to get out.  I'm sure a lot of them have changed their minds in the carnage that's resulted since then, but at the time it didn't appear that there was a lot of popular support for him.  That said, I haven't interviewed a vast majority of Syrians to get their input.  And considering how difficult it was for any international journalists to get into the country at the beginning, I'm guessing they didn't interview a majority either.

I'll believe corporations are people when one comes home from Afghanistan in a body bag.
