    If this was a situation where someone had the legal right to do this at SOME home, and got the address wrong, that's probably not a crime.  Criminality is not measured by the damage you do -- it requires an element of intent.  In other words, if they KNEW that this was not the house they were supposed to be at, if they KNEW that they had no right to do the repossession at this house, that would more likely be a crime.  As it is, it looks like a mistake -- probably negligence, maybe even gross negligence -- caused this.  (Caveat:  I don't know all the facts here -- just what is being reported.)  That's probably not a crime, even though it did lots of damage.  

    On the other hand, I can't imagine there's not a huge civil liability here -- on the part of the people hired to do this, and the bank who hired them. This homeowner will likely have a huge lawsuit.
