    What gives them the right to throw everything away? The bank is entitled to your house, not everything in it - aren't they supposed to put it in storage and make arrangements for you to get your stuff?

      In many places, if you've gotten notice in whatever legally required way that the people are out, then they've essentially abandoned what's left, and the party foreclosing can throw it away.

      You'd be surprised at how much stuff some people leave behind -- especially if they are going someplace like a room in a relative''s house where they don't have room for everything.  

      I've even seen people sell houses and leave a bunch of stuff behind when they turn the keys over to the new owner.
