      No, I think it's more like he's completely lost touch with average Americans and has not concept of how desperately needed the monies are.  Or just doesn't care.

        back at whatever the government is like in ten or fifteen years, when inflation eats up the entire check, and there is no other source of income for so many, they having fallen so far behind.

        He would do better to get the enrollment rate back up to 90 percent of workers where it was for decades, rather than the 82% or so it now enrolls, leaving many of the highest earners out entirely as they play with the form of their compensation. There is no surprise about possible cash shortages in SS when the pool of payers is skewed downward and reduced ten percent or so overall. It's not just the baby boomers.
