    may very well turn out to be the greatest thing that ever happened to us.  because it provides a warning. God knows nothing else is.

    These "dull buraucratic realities" that you speak of become permanent fixtures.  Once basic rights are voluntarily relinquished they never come back.  Never.  The fact that you refer to warrantless wiretapping and indiscriminate data collection on U.S. citizens as a dull bureaucratic reality is unfortunate. We were never supposed to know about any of this. Let that percolate for a minute.  And then think about the duty those responsible owe us as fellow citizens paid through our taxes.

    I'm already appalled at the kind of security-obsessed world my kids are going to have to grow up in.   Absolutely appalled.  I'm not being paranoid, I'm being disgusted.

      with people who substitute fictional scenarios, in a shallow fashion too, mind you, for substantive information, and balanced analysis.
