But there are many novels where the protag needs information and is able to find it very easily through database X Y or Z.  True, the behind the scenes filtering and sorting and storing of information is rarely seen, but it is so ubiquitous that it need not be shown, because it is already understood by the readers.

Even Grisham has scenes like that in his books, and his stuff is not very creative - he just writes about stuff he deals with all of the time.  The new James Bond and Tom Clancy stuff is much more direct about it.

    Or don't you read?

I am not religious, and did NOT say I enjoyed sects.

I manage to obtain reading material BEFORE reaching the airport, and when I want non fiction, I don't reach for novels.  Just saying.

HEY COGNITIVE INFILTRATORS! I googled "confirmation bias" and Daily Kos raided my house! And and and smashed my hard drives! Ask CNN, it's all truthy!
