I almost ditched the 2nd car when my wife got landed in exec land and my kids were all riding the bus or walking to school. I lived 2 blocks from a bus stop with decent service and a 15 minute walk from a full size grocery store.

But then my middle child developed a social calendar.  She attended a magnet school so friends were all over the city. And then we moved to a less transit friendly street (closest stop is more than a mile away).

Maybe when the youngest leaves the nest. I detest car ownership and I am growing to hate driving by the month.

He drove a souped up Subaru out of college. A couple of years ago he "upgraded" to a much cheaper Nissan. He hopes he can "upgrade" this car out of existence the next go around.
