I believe the only current UAW-built vehicle with a manual shift and cargo hatch instead of a trunk is the Ford Focus. There may have been a Ford Escape equipped that way a decade ago, but no longer.

I will be trading in a Ford that has given good service on a used Subaru Forester or VW Jetta Wagon in the next 18 months for the same reason. Driver's room in a Ford Focus is so scarce that, if I ever sat into one, mechanics might have to remove the door to get me out.  Ironically, the Ford Fiesta (built in Mexico) would be manageable.
