That's very good evidence.  And why did the not roll those out as part of their case?  Oh, "sources and methods".

I think those do need to be made public at some point with a clear identification of provenance and custody.

Myself, I think the US is bluffing about what they actually have.

Time for Congress to ask for the Adminstration to show the cards.  And ask the hard questions instead grandstanding for party gain.

Just take the names off the name plates, ranks, compile a list and you've got your suspects for the first bunch of trials at the International Criminal Court.

The main point is that having absorbed a limited strike, Assad could possibly start launching chemical attacks again.  And that, according to some, diminishes American power.

It is a contigency to think about amid all of the adrenaline-pumping going-to-war rush.

A billion dollars in cruise missiles is just as likely to turn up bupkis in deterring a future attack as some diplomatic strategies might.  But burning ordnance seems like you are really doing something, whereas patient negotiation and diplomacy seem wastes of time.

And if the US succeed in creating a de facto no-fly zone, what does the US do when the rebels win and form a jihadist government (only one of a few possibilities)?  Will we be doing it all over again?

Cruise missiles aren't a ruler and the US military aren't nuns.  And Bashar Assad is not a Catholic schoolboy.

the Treaty of Rome.  As such, the only way in which the ICC could have jurisdiction is through a referral from the Security Council.  Given current Russian intransigence on matters relating to Syria's possible use of chemical weapons, I would say that the chances of a Security Council referral are extremely remote.

Russia and China stood aside for ICC investigation of the Gadhafis and one of their advisers.  The evidence convinced them to abstain instead of veto.   ICC investigators are independent and can test whether the US case is real or cover for regime change.
