  •  Ewww, Simply Recipes has been featuring a couple (9+ / 0-)

of recipes this week with octopus. Just looking at one gives me an "Alien/Aliens" vibe, I just couldn't put that in my stomach.

in Berkeley, Christopher Lee (there is a NY chef by the same name but I'm pretty sure they are different people). We have this cool event that happens about 3 times a year, when the wine merchant Kermit Lynch gets together with a cafe and Acme Bread, who share the parking lot, and Mr. Lee produces a lunch to go with Kermit's wine. Long, shared tables with red-and-white checked tablecloths, creaky chairs, accordions or a small band, good vibes all around. One time Christopher Lee made an Octopus side dish that was really spectacular. I was expecting to dislike it, and I was totally surprised.
