    when you see the targeting.

The attack will weaken, but not destroy, Syria's ability to resist the jihadi "rebellion", thus extending its duration (or, worst case, letting the jihadis win) and causing as much more killing and destruction in Syria as possible.  It will also weaken air defenses against future US or Israeli attack.  So far Damascus is (relatively) undamaged . . . they want Damascus in rubble and ruin like Baghdad.

There is no "humanitarian"  or "responsibility to protect" motive . . . you don't "get it" because what you are looking for (a "good" reason) doesn't exist.

to attack Syria, why wouldn't those, who get attacked  look for all the bad reasons to attack the US? It's an invitation to further terrorism directed at the US.

I don't get it that so many American representatives don't get that either?

shooting under the influence ... hit and run ... destroying lives ... what else is this?

That's exactly why going slow and thinking this through thoroughly is crucial. There are always consequences to inflicting death and destruction on someone else's country/house/whatever. You have to make a determination whether it's worth that risk.

The military top brass in DC are very skeptical about this one -- it's Kerry who's pushing it, not the military, which gives me pause.
