has faced the hardest and most obscene political resistance of any president in the history of our country, and for obvious reasons.   Historically unprecedented temper tantrums on the right have largely crippled the agenda he came to office with.  It's a small miracle we got through the ACA even in it's current Heritage Foundation format.

It was this unprecedented intransigence that has all too often forced Obama to concede much ground to the right.  To simply call the man an empty suit seems disingenuous at best.

Maybe i'm just an optimist.  But I don't see the empty suit.  I see an American President facing an incredibly difficult situation taking an unpopular stance that he believes is right.

    •  That is how they got us to defend Clinton..... (0+ / 0-)

The right was after him every minute from the time he took office opening investigation after investigation, special prosecutors.....

In the end, Clinton helped them get everything they were after in that time frame - Welfare Reform, The Telecommunications Act, repealing Glass-Steagal, rendition - it is all a sham.  They work hand in glove to create the illusion that there are two parties.  When in fact there is only a corporate party.

Again, we cannot defend the indefensible.  Monica Lewinski was indefensible and gave Bush a leg up in 2000.  Aside from her and Ralph Nader, Gore would have had a much wider lead - but - then, we would have ended up with Al Gore - another globalist.
