  •  Nonsense (0+ / 0-)
most anarchist / subversive types are actually painfully ignorant and just go after things that irritate them ideologically or personally rather than actually need to be undermined for the sake of balance.
Anarchists tend to be very well read, many are well educated, and politically aware and have a high degree of class consciousness.

Your comment, on the other hand, is rather uninformed and is a politically ignorant comment. You're not alone in this regard, since many on dkos make all sorts of ignorant remarks about anarchism. I would behoove people to do some reading on anarchism before commenting about the movement.

    •  Please, I'm well-traveled in political discussion. (0+ / 0-)

I know the emotional roots out of which most subversive phenomena grow, and they're not by and large intellectual.  They tend to be based around largely fictional, self-centered narratives with nothing resembling rational prioritization, arising mainly from displaced personal disappointments or objections to mere symbolism.  Serious subversive thought and behavior are rare and precious commodities, and never likely to coalesce in one place in an institution as Herbert imagined.

...was largely expounded by Proudhon, Bakunin, Kropotkin, and various other thinkers, who could hardly be described as working from "emotional roots" and the mere fact that you would describe the roots of anarchism in this fashion reveals your ignorance, and your defensive posture reveals your notorious arrogance. You obviously know worse than nothing about the topic.

And anarchism is no more "subversive" than Marxism or any other revolutionary socialist theory.
